 Intercession

Definition(s):

Intercession – To act between parties with a view to reconcile differences, prayer, petition or entreaty in favor of. The act of interceding.

 

Intercessor – A mediator; one who interposes between parties at variance with a view to reconcile them. One who pleads on behalf of another. One who intercedes for others.

 

Many people spend their prayer time with a list of their own and their family’s needs. God is looking for people that will take time to pray and intercede for others and for our country.

 

Sometimes we think that because we are only one person that our prayers don’t count. That is not true. 1 Timothy 2:1, 2 tells us that supplications, prayers, intercessions be made for all men; for kings and all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

 

We all need to be interceding for our president and leaders in this country. We especially need to intercede, asking God to bring us righteous judges into America’s judicial system.

 

Isaiah 59:16 says that the Lord saw there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor. Intercessors are the watchmen on the wall that bring the needs of our nation to God. Intercessors move the hand of God.

 

Ezekiel 22:30 says that I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none. Here God was looking for one person who would pray so he could save the land. Your prayer is important. Don’t let it be said about America, that God couldn’t find an intercessor to pray for the land. Each prayer lifted up to God for righteousness to be restored to America is important. Take time daily to intercede for our leaders and our country.

 

I believe prayer has kept our nation from being attacked again. We need to lift up our voices in intercession that the schemes of the enemy will be discovered before any harm can be done. Romans 8:34 states that Christ is at the right hand of God making intercession for us. Let us not fail to intercede for the lost and our nation.
